Well I just returned from New York after viewing the Kitchen of the year at Rockefeller Center.
As I expected Mick De Giulio did not disappoint! The kitchen was crisp and fresh with alot of reflective surfaces to add just the right amount of sparkle without appearing overdone. Dove white
Kraft Maid cabinetry with classic lines covered with a lovely Caesarstone in I believe was Fair Lady. The back splash behind range was a continuation of
Caesar stone and
Grothouse lumber butcher block rimmed the island accompanying the stone surface. On opposite counter a wonderful back splash in antique mirror Davin glass subway tile by
Ann Sacks, was so sharp! I loved the smooth glass knob hardware on cabinetry and the butlers pantry sported an amazing counter area surrounding the sink that appeared to be hammered metal(in Polished Nickel). The sinks were unexpected but fun and rich in color, Annapolis Navy by Jonathan Adler for
Kohler. The lighting was polished nickel and almost nautical in nature over the island, the adjacent sitting area had a rustic chic feeling with lighting to match. I really liked the lighting in the butlers pantry which were sun inspired with a beautiful blue ceiling back round. All in all, this was a well put together kitchen with very durable surfaces, a relaxed yet chic feel and plenty of eye candy. I cannot wait to see the spread in the House Beautiful Magazine but until then I hope you enjoy the photos I was able to grab while touring this wonderful kitchen by Mick!
