Partial To Phillip Jeffries!

I love when my Phillip Jeffries Rep Maggie pays me a visit! We will be meeting tomorrow and I am excited to see the new offerings by Phillip Jeffries! There are plenty of wonderful wall coverings out there but I think I am partial to PJ, and have used them quite often for clients and my own home.
They are known for their wonderful grasscloth but now their collections extend beyond to linens and prints etc! Check out some of their wall coverings in action, I know you will agree this company just keeps getting better everyday!

Spring Has Sprung At Lee Jofa!

One of my favorite show rooms at the Decorating and Design Building is Lee Jofa! I look forward to seeing what they have done with the front room which changes every few months according to what's hot! Well this room is great. I felt immediately happy as I saw the pink and the green and touches of turquoise and embroidery! It's feminine yet not too sweet, rather cool and bold. Check it out and get inspired for spring decor! Have a great weekend everyone!

Going for that Tribal Look, Add A little German!

20th Century Ceramic

My new obsession is West German Pottery!  Especially Fat Lava and drip glazed pieces. These pieces of pottery were produced during the 1950's to the 1970's and in the 80's started to fall out of favor. However, they are back and staying! I think people like to now have that traveled look even if its done in a traditional manner, these pieces mix well for the mid century mod look and those who want an eclectic and tribal feel. I started collecting accessories for a client who loves tribal and added a lovely vase to the mix. I can't wait to bring all my finds over to start accessorizing, thought I would take a photo and show you a nice way to group such a piece! Happy Monday all!

What We Serve On St Patty's Day!

I am sure everyone thinks that all of the Irish will be eating Corn beef and Cabbage! Well not all of us!
I must say that I don't every remember having it when I lived there as a child, but I do remember wonderful Irish sausage, potatoes, and Shepherds pie! We usually throw on a small amount of corn beef and cabbage for those who enjoy it. However, we usually always have the following: Shepherds pie with (ground turkey) because my daughters refuse to eat a lamb! We also have a wonderful roasted Irish salmon with a honey glaze, and plenty of mashed potatoes!  There are certain treats that we love to have and brown Irish bread rather than the Irish bread you find in the supermarket is our choice! I thought I might give you a nice list that you may want to include if you are partaking in the Irish festivities and I have linked them to recipes so as to not take up too much room on post!

Bells of Ireland with a lovely white mix!

Authentic Shepherds pie

1 lb. fresh salmon fillets
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 c. honey
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp. chili powder

Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the salmon and saute until nearly done. Meanwhile, mix the honey, garlic and chili powder. Just before the fish is done, pour honey mixture over it. It will bubble up in the olive oil and form a glaze you can spoon back over the fish. Serve at once. Serve with a slice of lime.

Watercress with simple lemon, sea salt and good virgin olive oil!

So far my favorite Brown Bread mix.. fantastic with Irish Butter!

Childhood favorite and now my children's too!

Again.. too yummy!

Guinness Chocolate Cake!

Wonderful trifle recipe from-Married And Irish Farmer! "A Tale of Two Trifles"!

The only tea we love and it comes in Decaf too and you really wouldn't notice the difference!

May you always have...
Walls for the winds
A roof for the rain
Tea beside the fire
Laughter to cheer you
Those you love near you
And all your heart might desire.
