What Lurks Under Your Stairs?

What lurks under your stairs? I hope something wonderful! I have a closet that hides a lot of my office materials so that is not much fun, but I wish it could be an unexpected design treat instead! I found some of my favorite unexpected hidden stairway gems and if you have a great hidden stair gem let me know!
Enjoy!

An Artist's Cabin - Before And After!

If you follow my blog you know I love Artist Maureen Chatfield's work! I am privileged to have two of her paintings in my own house and have turned clients on to her wonderful work as well! Maureen is not only a creative talented artist, who's works can be seen at some prestigious galleries but she also has a knack for creating wonderful spaces as well. Maureen recently purchased a little cabin in the woods in wonderful NJ, yes I said New Jersey!  You will see by the following photos that this lovely quaint space was in need of some serious TLC, and Maureen delivered. I hope you enjoy these before and after shots of one of the prettiest before and after photos of a cabin!

Irving And Fine Are "Oh So Lucky"!

We love Carolina Irving and Lisa Fine for their gorgeous fabric and wonderful global chic clothing from Irving and Fine, but did you know you can also enjoy there wares through Lucky Brand!
Yes, I am so thrilled to find wonderful affordable ethnic inspired pieces through Irving and Fine for Lucky Brand. I absolutely love the Embroidered Jacket in cotton Canvas-Viscose and it seems everyone else does too! I tried to order it yesterday and they are waiting for more stock to arrive, so I headed over to my mall and once again they are sold out of my size as well!! So I put my name down on a list that already had women waiting for this piece, hopefully it will be part of my spring wardrobe soon! March enters this week and Spring is around the corner, so time to start thinking about our Spring fashion and Irving and Fine is at the top of my list!

Go Ahead And BLUSH!

I am sitting here on a dreary drizzling day in NJ, wishing for Spring. I always find myself drawn to lovely pale pinks and peaches when looking for Spring inspiration. There are some wonderful blush tone fashion out there, including bags and shoes...so why not interiors too! I scoured Pinterest and found some gorgeous rooms that may just make you want to blush! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Color Under Foot!

I  have seen trends go from traditional oriental rugs to neutral jute and sisal, but I am loving the color that is coming back underfoot! If you love color lay it on the floor too! Start with your "uber" favorite rug or carpet and create your room from the floor on up.  The sky is the limit these days with pattern, durability,  indoor/outdoor and everything in between. However, a good wool rug is still my favorite!
Here are some of my fantastic finds and looks with color under foot!

Lulu & Georgia- Pari Rug! Just love it!

Love the mix of fun rug with vintage furniture and pale green walls!

Schuyler Samperton could have easily done a neutral Sisal or Jute rug here but she chose color even thought there was alot of color in the space and it works effortlessly!

I love the Lavender chevron which may have inspired the space with mixes of unexpected colors,
it's just lovely! House Beautiful.

One of a kind from Lulu& Georgia-Auriella Rug!

The following rugs are from Loom Rugs of Australia! I am obsessed with there patterns, colors and dying method. They even use old yarn for some rugs! Worth checking out for sure!

And the Green Room Oscars goes to- Madeline Stuart and Baker!

I love watching the red carpet review of the Oscars! I also look forward to viewing the Green Room and who designed it, etc! This year the Green Room is being done by Madeline Stuart who is using many pieces by Baker Furniture, so you know it will be done to the nines! Here are a few of my favorite Baker pieces that will be featured in the Green Room, and don't forget to tune into the Oscars to see it live. Check it out at Architectural Digest linked to read the Green Room Story!
