Room Crush

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! I am already contemplating my Christmas decor and and was web surfing when I came across a room that I am totally crushing on. It is Chinoiserie inspired and has the most phenomenal daybed that would make anyone swoon. I decided to see if it could be somewhat recreated with a more reasonable budget in mind. Here is what I came up with! What room are you crushing one these days and can it be recreated?

House Beautiful

The original paper is De Gournay but Paul Montgomery has a gorgeous interpretation!

No onto the bed which is no easy copy but one can use a bit of good black gloss pain and some gold liquid leaf and be on their way to a lovely repro!

The most expensive of the bunch but still a fraction of the original bed

Etsy- MidModTropical
Black paint and gold trim and you are on your way to one sharp bed!

Can you imagine this beauty ebonized with gold detail!
Restoration Hardware Child!

This gorgeous simple bed would add  a modern clean feel to that dream space!

This is the exact chair in the image form HB and it's also from RH!

If you prefer a more clean lined chair this could fit the bill!

Can always count on West Elm for reasonable modern accents!

Amazon pulls through for fun pieces too!
POUF

West Elm's version of the Martini Table!

The original table from Jonathan Adler!

Wayfair sisal!

Gold striped bedding at PB Teen!

Lovely gold silk pillows from Etsy- Creative Touch Decor

Fun Gold Tortoise shell lamps!

How about this one from Wayfair!

Finally you need a great Hollywood Regency book shelf!

Finish the room off with some great books and white finger jars and you have  a winner my friend!
Remember if you cannot find all white jars you can always spray paint them white gloss.
Have a great week!

Thanksgiving Glimpse of Butler's Pantry!

I am so happy and thankful to have my girls home for Thanksgiving! It's a small gathering of 9 this year. yet with my parents and mother inlaw well and ready to celebrate it's the perfect size.  I thought I would give you a little peak at my simple decor and  the butlers pantry which will be well used on this holiday as it functions as bar and coffee center.  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and stay safe in your travels!

At Home In the Garden - Carolyne Roehm

I find books to be such a wonderful gift for the Holidays.  If you have someone special in your life that appreciates gardens, flowers and beauty in general, then Carolyne Roehm's book , "At Home in the Garden" is perfect for them.  Carolyne  has welcomed us into her estate Weatherstone, and has allowed us to follow her through the seasonal changes that create utter beauty throughout the grounds.  We all know that Carolyne is enthralled with flowers and now we see where that love comes from and how it is nurtured.  I love gardening and nature and so does my father so believe or not I will also be giving this book to him.  Please enjoy a few of my favorite images from Carolyne's book, and trust me these are merely a few. If you wish to take a tour of Weatherstone in it's entirety go HERE!

Oh Deer!

Yes, it is about that time of year to relish some tiny Reindeer!  I adore Deer even though they wreak havoc on my garden and shrubs, and become giant road blocks as they gingerly cross in front of my little mini cooper.  I still look forward to Spring as the little ones  sneak into my yard. I even tried to no avail to revive a faun this past Summer that my neighbor found abandoned by its mother, alas I was too late.  So, needless to say I love me some Deer for Christmas! Here are some of  favorite ways to bring a little Rudolph into  your home for the Holidays.

AMAZING Found on Pinterest!

These lovely little Deer are a gift from a great friend!

One of my favorite Lamps that I found at a thrift store!
