Pottery Love - Amanda Moffat!

I found Amanda Moffat by accident in my search for interesting pottery for a client.  Her work is now on my "favorite list".  Amanda has been throwing pots for 20 years in Brooklyn at the New Clay Studios.  Each piece is done by hand from start to finish and she has been inspired by Piranesi sketches and antique fabric that influence the patterns and colors on these most beautiful pieces. A piece from this collection would surely be one lovely gift for the Holidays for the person who has everything and loves art and accessories. To see more about Amanda Moffat go HERE!

Giving Thanks!

As we rush around and make our dinner and set our tables let us all try to stay in the moment. Let us think about those who have no family and those who have to work today in order to benefit us in some way. Let's think about the sadness that plagues this great nation as we see a continuance of racial divide and class difference.  Let us remember those we have lost and those who may pass on this day of thanks. For those in war torn countries and the homeless on our block, let us give thanks for being so fortunate.  Let's take a moment and silently send out a wonderful wish for all of those who may not feel grateful on this day, that they some day soon may be able to say thanks. To all my close blogger friends and to all of you who take the time out of your day to read what I have to say- THANK YOU!

Doesn't everyone deserve their own little Rockwell moment of thanks?

Thanksgiving Hunt!

It's a tradition by us for the Hunt clubs to head out every Thanksgiving for the Holiday Fox Hunt. We have horses everywhere in my part of New Jersey and of course we are no exception with our own horse Kieran.  My daughter has participated in a few hunts but thank goodness no Fox was ever  harmed in the process.  Although I don't wish any animal to be hunted, there is something nostalgic and historic about the tradition. It always reminds me of Autumn and Holiday time, especially when you drive through Far Hills and see the packs of hounds and horses in pursuit of a prize. You feel like you have been transported back in time.  A home can definitely be influenced at Thanksgiving by the English style and qualities that are "The Hunt".  Here are some of my favorite finds from Pinterest. I wish everyone has a safe pre-Thanksgiving  prep day as I see the snow coming down from my window. Cheers!

Finally, this image reminds of my daughter and the age that she started riding! It truly brings to mind the meaning of  "Thanks" to have my wonderful children who are now adults and approaching adulthood  all healthy, happy  and safe!

Artist Crush - Beth Rundquist

I went to an exhibit last week for Beth Rundquist. She is the sister of a friend and  happens to be an amazingly talented and noted artist. Beth resides in NYC and her bio includes a BA from Smith College, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in CT, L'ecole Nationale Superieure de Beaux Arts in Paris and more! She has received awards for her portraiture and travels around the country to paint commissioned work.
I love her versatility as an artist as she moves from still life to figures and then onto beautiful landscapes. Her latest exhibition is one featuring Hound & Horse! To see more of Beth's work or to commission a portrait please go HERE. Now enjoy the featured work that I love from her collection. Happy Monday!

Did I mention Beth also does sculptures!

Friday Fab Finds!

What a long week! I am truly happy that it is Friday. I am also sending warming thoughts to the people of Buffalo NY, who I am sure wish this week was over too!  I love taking inventory of the fun things that I have found over the week.  I had a great shopping day with a client at the wonderful store of Bonny Neiman!  We came away with a few fabulous pieces such as a rustic 54 inch round mirror, a french mirror and a chest of locker drawers for a bedroom side table.  I went home with a few goodies of my own, a pillow and two fun glass green/amber candle hurricanes.
I also started gathering finds this past week for my own living space and hope to implement that soon. What great things did you find this past week please share I would love to know!  Have a great weekend everyone and stay warm.
