Irish Wish List!

I am off today to the land of eternal greenery!  Our family is heading to Ireland.  It has been over 30 years since I last set foot on those gorgeous shores and I am looking forward to sharing that experience with my family.  However, I wish it was a design trip too. There are so many wonderful things to find in Ireland in the way of antiques and textiles. Alas, I can only dream about a wish list today. Thank goodness we have 1st Dibs to find amazing pieces from around the world including Ireland, although the thrill of the hunt is half the fun.  I hope you check on my Instagram for fun images of the Emerald Isle and I will be back and blogging in 10 days! Until then I wish you all a wonderful 4th of July and safe travels where ever you may go.

Here are the things I would put in my "Wish" crate and ship home if I could! Okay a few of them are going to be shoved in my suitcase for sure! All furniture available on 1stDibs!

Project Study

Even though it's Summer and school is out, it's never a better time then to create a study room!  This is one of the projects we are working on, thus I have been a bit busy and slacking off with posts..sorry. I thought I would share our rough ideas which will be cleaned up and board presented once I return from Ireland. Yes, that's another reason for the lack of blogging a trip to Ireland will happen on Friday! Will try to squeeze in a few more posts until then, and don't forget to see the trip on Instagram

A photo image from CocoCozy  gives client a good idea of what can be done to a deep alcove in room.

Wall covering choices- woven or Faux Bois to be determined!

Two chairs an ottoman and built in daybed bench should be plenty for three to kick their feet up and read!

Welcome Summer Style!

It is officially Summer!  It's time to feel the warmth of Summer breezes and enjoy the great outdoors. Being from Jersey I always equate Summer with either a lake house or a beach house since we are in short distance to both. There is something so beautiful about the ocean and beachside living during the Summer months. I found some gorgeous images on Pinterest that I am sure you can use as inspiration as we change over to Summer style. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Friday Francais!

In honor of my 14 year old Francophile daughter, I am giving you a little French Friday post! She is my baby and she graduated from 8th grade last night, no longer a child but now officially a high schooler.  She is definitely an old soul who loves anything French or Audrey Hepburn! I picked up a favorite French Style Magazine yesterday and found such wonderful images that I felt transported to France myself.  There is something carefree yet well thought out about a French home. One will find antiques, linens, flowers and of course good food. I know one place in New Jersey that you may find a lovely piece of Paris and that is Bonny Neiman's, in fact she is having a red tag sale at the moment so if you are in the tri-state area you may want to take a road trip! I will try to hit that today in hopes of finding some great things for a client's foyer.
Let's take a tour of Brooke's imaginary French home! Have a lovely weekend everyone and bring a little Paris into your home too.

Our little Chat" Remy" is enjoying the magazine as well!

This little vignette and portrait really reminds me of Brooke, my petite chou!

Color Cool Down!

I have a major design regret!  I wish that I had Summer exchange pieces to transform my home from Season to Season. I would love to  have slipcovers ready to go and natural woven or some fun hide rugs rolled and ready to bring out when the temp hits 80's!  It's been a muggy week of 90 degrees here in NJ and although my house is physically cool inside it could use that little extra something to have is visibly cool as well. I need to plan for next year to have some fun decor on hand so that when it heats up the room cools down. Here are some lovely rooms that I found. Take note of room color and texture and use of simple pieces mixed in. Enjoy and stay cool.
