There were predictions last year about trends for 2013. Some came true others not so much. I have a few wishes for design in 2014! I am curious to hear what your predictions or wishes are for 2014, let me know and we may have to do a whole separate post based just on those!
1) I hope that there will be a return of the thrill of the hunt at thrift and antique stores! I wish people would once again embrace individuality and want to find pieces that truly add personality to their home!
Examples:
2) I hope that people embrace wall coverings again! There are so many fabulous companies who provide coverings that can range from simple and textural to stunning works of art! If your walls are sized it's not difficult to remove if you ever wish to change the look again.

Phillip Jeffries- love! |
3) A little color to kitchens! I do love White but I hope to see more taupe, gray and even natural wood tones that give a rustic yet cool edge to one's space.
4) A return to investing in art! Not all art is that expensive and we can support the talents that be and give our spaces that unique feel with art that speaks to us.
Finally....
5) With orchid debuting as Pantone color of the year, I hope to see a bit of a feminine edge entering areas of the home such as guest rooms and bathrooms or anywhere you need a great pop of color!
