Artist Of The Week Layla Fanucci And Give Away Winner!

Layla Fanucci

Our artist of the week is Layla Fanucci!  Fanucci was a musician and composer-turned artist who has spent the last 15 years perfecting the abstract powerful cityscapes for which she is so well known for today.  I love these amazing cityscapes and Layla makes them unique with conscious but frenetic brushstrokes and bold color! Architectural in nature, she looks to photographs and postcards from her travels for inspiration. The result is an image which depicts the diversity of urban life that infuse each city's unique character.
Looking forward to 2014 her work will be recognized in Marlo Thomas's new book "It Ain't Over...Till It's Over" which is due out in April of this year. It is a collection of inspiring stories about ordinary women who have reinvented themselves in amazing ways.  Fanucci's part will focus on her transition from music and teacher to renowned artist. In addition Layla will have two pieces featured in an exhibit at the Napa Valley Museum from January 10- March 23, 2013.
