Bachmann-Strauss Benefit At Rebecca Taylor!

This is a busy day today as I have window treatments that have to be installed at a client's and then I am heading into the city this evening for a wonderful benefit for Bachmann-Strauss.  Bachmann-Strauss is charity that my dear friend Nancy Silverman and her family, especially her son Jake are involved with.  Jake who is a Senior in High School was diagnosed prior to 2007 with early onset Dystonia.
What is Dystonia you make ask?
Dystonia causes involuntary repetitive twisting and sustained muscle contractions. These result in abnormal movements and postures. The symptoms usually begin in one body region, such as the neck, face, vocal cords, an arm or a leg, and then may spread to other parts of the body. When dystonia affects children, it often starts in a leg before spreading to other limbs and trunk. In adults, dystonia tends to remain localized to a body region and frequently affects first the upper body. Dystonia is related to Parkinson's and is now being recognized and researched with the help of fabulous foundations such as Bachmann-Strauss.
The Rebecca Taylor Store in the Meat Packing District of NYC is celebrating it's 1st year Anniversary and they will be showing the S/S 2014 collection and also are having Allison Hersh London host a benefit in which 20% of proceeds goes to Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia/Parkinsons Foundation, please take some time to read about Allison and her connection to Dystonia: HERE.
