Designer Scott Salvator Sighting!
I volunteered as a docent at The Mansion In May this past Sunday. I needed to take my mind off of things as my friend that I posted about passed from us on Saturday. So on a chilly Sunday afternoon I got myself together and boarded the shuttle to the Mansion. I usually always head to the back seat, I think out of habit, but today I took the very first one. As I waited and watched all the passengers board, a handsome, very dapper gentleman with plum corduroys and plum driving moccasins entered the door. It was Scott Salvator! As luck would have it he sat right next to me. I was thrilled and a bit speechless, this man has been in the business for over 20 years and worked and was friends with the likes of Hadley/ Parish, Mario Buatta, Mark Hampton etc. He turned out to be most charming man and we talked design and and how we miss the classics of yesteryear. We reminisced over a time when Interior Design was a specialty and was respected as an art form. When the shuttle came to a stop he stood up and shook my hand and introduced himself, I told him no introduction needed I know who you are, and I hope we meet again soon! Here is a glimpse of a Scott's talent, I hope he continues to amaze us and I would love to see a book about his past 20 years experience, very soon ...hint ..hint!

It takes a lot to pull it together and carry on with your commitment. Your bus mate may have been your friend looking down and winking at you. We have our up's and our down's, and somehow we strive to find the balance. What a pleasure to have had the introduction and conversation with a master!
