New Love For Old Flooring!

I guess I have always been attracted to antique flooring but it seems as of lately that I have become a bit obsessed with it! Although we love our old farmhouse and have been here for over 15 years we have been toying with the idea of moving on. We just cannot decide if moving on means finding another home or building from scratch!  While contemplating all of this I started day dreaming of what I would put in a new home if I had the chance to do it from the ground up. One thing is for sure, I would definitely use some old stone tile! I love that old stone really doesn't have a cold feel because of the worn quality and patina. After the number my adorable dogs did on all my hard wood flooring a change would be good.  Here are some dream rooms and definite dream floors that I could live with and enjoy for years.

  1. My favorite kind of flooring..reclaimed anything. These examples are gorgeous! I love reclaimed limestone.....nothing quite like it. Pretty post.

  2. Great inspiration photos. I lived with a stone floor and it was indestructible. Cool in the summer and in the winter add large rugs for warmth and acoustics. I'm looking forward to seeing what direction your going to go...

  12. Thanks for this post! I rarely consider tile for rooms other than the obvious-bath and kitchen. The floors in these rooms are beautiful. Don't we all love something that our hairy children can have their way with?
