Art Meets Food!
I started painting lessons again with my dear friend Maureen Chatfield. I signed up for an abstract class but to my surprise found myself painting a still life the first day of class because Maureen had already signed us up for an exhibition! The mini show requires a food theme and I must say at first I was stumped. I started searching for inspiration and I quickly found myself enamored with the most beautiful displays of food photography. These images are thought provoking and colorful, pretty much all the requirements of a great piece of art! Do you find the beauty in food? Which image speaks to you? I know my favorite!
Gorgeous images! I'd love to see your painting when it's finished!
ReplyDeleteThat's one skill that I admire so much! I can't paint at all but I'm fascinated watching others. What a gift. I tended to prefer the darker photos shown. The depth of the blacks and deep eggplant colors were very moody. Please share the finished masterpiece when ready!

That's amazing
ReplyDeleteKarolyn,
ReplyDeleteI adore each and every one of your images! Food styling and painting food is such an art! There is one blog I found "local milk blog" and her images are exquisite. I admire some of the old Dutch Masters and how they painted food along with Cezanne and some of the Impressionist painters. I cannot wait to see your paintings! Hope you are having lots of fun in the class.
