It is about that time for a facelift! Well, not my face yet but rather my kitchen's. It is 15 years old and is finally asking for a little help. First things first that poor wide plank flooring has incurred years of abuse from our furry friends and is in desperate need of refinishing. Although I still like the color fo my cabinets the glaze has seen it's day in the sun, so new paint it is. The back splash and side counter tops need to hit the road. I am going simple and cleaner. We also need pendant lights and a new kitchen table overhead fixture. Oh, did I mention that the hardware needs changing as well! Thank goodness that the cabinets get to stay or I might as well just do a complete rip out. I hope to have this in progress by mid spring fingers crossed. What room in your home needs a facelift?

Loving this lovely glazed ceramic tile from -The Tile Bar! |
I think I am feeling brass or a combination piece for new hardware.
always fun to #dusomethingnu in your living spaces.... though your kitchen does not look so bad. The glazed ceramic tiles look so nice, such great neutral shades and I love the texture and the gloss.
ReplyDeleteI am sure your kitchen will look beautiful after you give it a facelift - I love your style and all the inspiration!

Love the colors you are considering, as well as the finishes I've been interested in Ceasar Stone lately - interested to hear what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to see what your going to select. I can live it via pictures. The counter tops I'm considering are very similar to what your looking at. I can't decide if a stone of composite is for me. I'll be looking for your feedback. I have to say YES to Circa lighting, and brass handles. Is it wrong to say that your kitchen may look very sexy?!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

I am dying to tear out and reconfigure my entire kitchen. Especially the 80's tile. I love that fixture with the gold stars you've featured. I love a little whimsy in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThe tile and stone is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen now, but I know it will look fantastic
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! This is going to be fabulous but I must say your current kitchen is beautiful...though a little enhancement is always fun. I love the direction you are going in and cannot wait to see it as it progresses..fun!
ReplyDeleteKarolyn, your kitchen is beautiful now - although I know we all get tired of things after awhile. I can't wait to see what you do in there! At the rate I am going with mine, yours will be finished before mine's even started. Love your choices. I know you will make it even more gorgeous in there!

Yours will be fresh and new how wonderful, I think Glenn would put me out with the kitchen if I asked for a whole new one!
DeleteI love your poor old kitchen...but it will be fun to see the new kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much but this poor old kitchen is a bit beat up from years of children and dogs! SO she needs a little bit of cosmetic work-LOL!
DeleteI'm right there with you and doing mine this spring! Love your choices and I'm also going for brass with the lightest grays or whites. Love so many things in your space- the layout, the island, the stools- happy renovating! Xo Nancy
