Under The Spell of a Sea Shell !

There is something unique in each wonderful little treasure of the sea.  It is amazing how people can create such beautiful things from sea shells and how they incorporate them into the design of a room.
They are so versatile and can be placed on a coffee table or into a bookshelf, and even adorn a mirror or light fixture. I found a great site called Elegant Shell, it's talented proprietor and designer is Heather Kendall and she has an eye for beauty! Checkout her site and see the amazing creations and spaces she has done. Here are some of my favorite rooms that have been touched by the sea. Enjoy!

A House Romance

The following pieces are from Elegant Shell and they are just gorgeous! I could see them on a wall in Naples  or Palm beach in a heartbeat!  To see more of Heather's creations go to Elegant Shell!

Modern Moroccan!

Leave it to Woven Accents to create gorgeous modern moroccan rugs! I just love the colors and the cool patterns... they would work both in eclectic and contemporary settings.  I also like how they are based on an antique rug so I believe these will be a classic as well! Hope you enjoy these as much as I do, have a great weekend!

Keeping Trim!

As I embark on a library project I am now in search of fabulous trim to accent the many fabrics for pillows and drapery that will be installed.  I turn to my favorite source for trim"Samuel & Sons". I love going to the showroom right next to the Design building in Manhattan. I could spend hours there getting cuttings of fabulous trim. I know people seem to be keeping things on the simple streamlined side these days but I will always be partial to good, cool trim. One does not have to go ornate, trim can be sleek and sharp and I have found some of my favorites to show you. Mind you it wasn't easy because Samuel and Sons has a multitude of great trim, tassels, tie backs etc. So, are you a trim person? Let me know!
