If you follow this blog you know I am all about art! I cannot imagine any home without it, and it doesn't have to be expensive art either. Art should be first and foremost what you love and next what really makes an impact on your space! What happens when you just don't have the budget to fill your home with walls of art? Pick one and go big! I chose to do that in a few rooms and I am glad I did. There are so many talented artists out there who do big art. You can even take a great photograph yourself and with the wonderful sites on the web you can blow it up and even have it backed onto aluminum for a truly custom look without breaking the bank. I also want to encourage people to take a local art class. You do not have to be gifted you just have to be eager to learn. Think of the fun you could have painting a big 3 x 4 foot canvas to display on your wall! Here are some of my favorite rooms with large and in charge art. Sites I love for big art:UGallery,FearnFineArt,LaylaGrace, Etsy, MaureenChatfield, Mecox Gardens, TrowbridgeGallery, NaturalCuriosities, and JPocker.
I love the contemporary mixed with the antiques. What a visual impact in a room. Big art, big impact. Now if only my rooms would like that...... Sharon
