If I could, I would blink my way across the ocean to merry ole England, and once there I would sit myself down in a wonderful cottage to indulge in scones and tea! I think it's probably because I started my ultra low carb diet and that I do truly miss London that I am having these crazy thoughts and cravings. However, I still would love to be curled up in front of a stove or turf burning fireplace with a good cup of tea in hand just enjoying my surroundings. Do you ever have that moment of wanting to be transported elsewhere? Where would your Jeannie powers take you? Let me know and enjoy the great scone recipe at the end of the post. Cheers!

Ohhhh, I so want to be in that house/houses, with wonderful clotted cream and perfectly baked scones and raspberry jam and steaming hot jasmine tea!!! You transported me to England!
ReplyDeleteMy Jeanie powers would take me to somewhere quiet, lusciously elegant, beautiful and warm by an ocean or a marvelous swimming pool. Maybe the new resort Prince William & Kate stayed at in the Turks & Caicos?
If I could just wrinkle my nose and there I'd be, i'd be doing it lots:):):)
Hello from a very chilly English evening....
ReplyDeleteI just had to stop by when I saw the title of your story today...and the pictures are so pretty and I feel at home , I love them.
I have actually been to afternoon tea with some girlfriends this afternoon!! But in a beautiful hotel in Manchester , not in the countryside this time
We had a delicious tea, tiny sandwiches, scones ( I am sure they were home-made ) with fresh cream and preserves, and lovely cakes. We drank china tea, and because it was a celebration - my friend has just become engaged- we had some champagne too. It was wonderful.
It is quite spring like here with many flowers and trees in bloom... a lovely day

I would like my powers to take me away to Aspen. I could be cozy with a drink in front of a roaring fire watching it snow! I could use a get away....

Yumilicious post:-). I've been itching to revisit Spain lately.
ReplyDeleteLoved this!! I adore scones and everything about tea time and England. What fabulous photos you chose. I was transported! I may try your recipe this week as we are getting rain and I always like to make scones and have tea on rainy days. Going to pin this post. So gorgeous. Have a good week! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim for popping by!!Now if I wasn't on this darn diet I would run out yesterday and grabbed some scones and faked it!!
DeleteKarolyn, I would love to join you in Merry Old for scones and tea - one of my favorite treats. I typically don't eat carbs, but made a batch (gruyere/chive) for our party last week and treated myself. Real cream tea is always one of my favorite things about visiting the UK - kind of the equivalent of croissants and macarons in France! Hope you get a bit of lovely English style in your week! XOXO
ReplyDeleteOMG these images are gorgeous. I love scones and tea, and clotted cream and strawberry jam.I wish those time could linger as well. At least you have the great memories! Reality sucks sometimes coming back, doesn't it? Oh well, at least spring is here! Have a great week. xo Nancy
