Go West Young Man or Woman!

First let me start by saying,"Thank You"to all the lovely readers who extended their condolences through this trying time.  It was a rough week here but we feel things are at peace now and we all must go on and enjoy life. I finally sat down yesterday and picked up my daughter's Allure Magazine.  It is full of Fall pieces and trends for the coming season. One big trend I saw was Western Apparel! I guess  what goes around does come back around. Darn it, wish I didn't get rid of my old cowboy boots!  Anyway, I  sometimes see a relationship between fashion trend and interiors so it got me wondering. Will we may see a little more Western creep back into our homes?  Maybe some more texture or raw wood, or maybe a navajo blanket or rug. What do you think will be the next  trend hitting our haciendas? Check these out! All the lovely fashion photos -ALLURE.

  1. My sweet friend, I was unable to come by the last post of yours, so I am unaware of what happened this past week....I hope everyone is OK????

Give me a horse. Give me my cowboy boots, and rustic wood elements and mix that with my love for French and Swedish and there is a mix I can live with! I was just thinking about how many people are wanting to return to the "simple" feel of home, decorated with things from nature such as wood and other materials. And talk about cowboy boots, I LOVE the look of boots with a tulle skirt. WHY NOT!

Thank you so much for coming to visit today! HAPPY END OF AUGUST! Anita

  2. Hope you are doing ok, sweet Karolyn. Nothing like a good magazine to take your mind off things for a couple of minutes. Great pics. Hope you have a restful week ahead.

  3. Funny you should mention that! I was just thinking about adding some horse items to my decor. Not quite western, but close enough. Leather, hides, rustic wood, anything galvanized. Works for me!

  4. I've learned the hard way not to get rid of anything from a few fashion cycles ago! Since fashion is so cyclical getting rid of a cool printed floral top 4 years ago was a huge mistake because floral is so in right now and mixing prints! I love equestrian themed stuff for decor, not so much western, but I think it definitely adds a touch of sophistication!

  5. Hi Karolyn thank you for your beautiful visit and comment at my place :)
It's been more than one would want to go through then the death of a loved one, and all the up and downs with emotions in how one should grieve. I hope visiting with friends, family, and us your friends in blog land are able to add a bit of comfort to your days here.
Keep busy this is what your father in-law would have wanted, I hope your husband is comforted with beautiful memories. I lost my father when I was 14 and still find myself wanting to share with home things we missed out on, yet the fun sweet little loving memories carry me through.

As for the western design trend we are seeing pop up here and there and creeping in on us is no surprise. I love the bathroom with the modern tub, perhaps I would change out the modern ottoman stool for a sweet French iron table, perfect for a rustic bathroom, and suited for my style :)

    This was a great post,
    See you soon.

Prayers of comfort to you and yours.

    Xx

  6. Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. This must be a very difficult time for you and your family. I suppose keeping busy sometimes helps but everyone deals with loss in their own way.
As for the Western trend, you have captured it well here in your choice of images. The interiors look both rustic yet at the same time stylish which is not always easy to achieve.
