Tour Through Blogland!

Happy Monday all! I was invited by the lovely Katy of Designs BY Katy to join the Tour Through Blogland. Katy has a few questions for me and I will do my best to answer them!
Let me introduce you to Katy:
A fabulous interior design installation by Katy!

Designs By Katy

First off if you are not familiar with Katy she is a young, adorable  talented interior designer and blogger. Her style is fun and eclectic and I for one would have a great time doing a project with her! Please check out her site above for great tips and DIY that will surely impress!

Onto the questionnaire!
1. What am I working on now?
Well I am working on a few projects. Adding finishing touches to an eclectic apartment design by having a great moroccan 2 inch tile installed on the backsplash.

We are also finishing up a study space for 3 adorable children who now each have built in desks and a wonderful daybed to stretch out and read and is also chock full of storage. More images to come when final install happens.  We are revamping a great home with new paint and wall coverings etc., cant wait until that is done to share with you all.

I have also started back at painting lessons and will be part of a small show at a local restaurant thus the theme is food / still life inspired.

2. How does my work differ from others of my genre?

Hmm  let's see. this is a tough one.  I guess I may be different due to my decorative painting back round and my sense of color. I am a traditionalist that dabbles in eclectic design. The basis is always about staying power and a comfortable space that can be enjoyed by all! I dont know if that makes us different but I know that we feel good about each project we complete.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I write my blog because if forces me to research and learn about subjects of design and art that interest me and then allows me to share it with others, like spreading the wealth but the wealth is design knowledge.

4. How does my writing/creating process work?

Our"creating" work process always starts with a good interview of a client and answering important questions that give an idea of taste,  room function and budget. We then write a proposal and  upon agreement the fun begins. Design boards and sketches are rendered, trips to showrooms happen and follow up decision meetings steer us in the right direction.
As far as writing goes I lay awake at night thinking of what I want to learn about next or maybe something of inspiration and first thing in the am the rough writing draft happens and image search begins. It may take up to 2 hours for the best post to be published.
I am also inspired to write because of what I learn from other bloggers as well!  I think that does it, and I hope the next 3 bloggers that I pick get a kick out of Blogland Tour as much as I did. Thanks Katy!
