NEIMAN MARCUS COOKS

It's a rainy, icy morning here in NJ. I am enjoying a nice cup of jo and leafing through a cook book that I won through Rizzoli Publishing, "Neiman Marcus Cooks".  It is a compilation of recipes of their beloved classics and updated versions of the old classics. I have to say that besides the souffle none of the recipes are too intimidating and all look absolutely delicious. I thought I would share the famous "Chocolate Chip Cookie" recipe with you and let you see some of my favorite recipes from this much recommended book. If you would like any recipe for the images shown please don't hesitate to contact me and I will be glad to send it to you! towncountryinteriors@yahoo.com

TEMP_ 300 degrees
Place butter and sugars in bowl with paddle attachment.
beat until light and fluffy about 6 minutes
then egg and vanilla until well combined.

In another mixing bow combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Then slowly add this mixture to wet ingredients while beating on low. Once added beat and additional 15 seconds. Then stir in the chocolate chips and ground coffee.
Using a 1 once scoop drop onto greased cookie sheet , I would  use a Silpat if you have it.  Space about  3 inches apart. then gently press to make 2 inch round circles. Bake for about 20 minutes until brown around the edges.    Cool and remember to grease the pan in between bakings! ENJOY!

YES this one intimidates me but wow is it gorgeous!

  5. Hi Karolyn!!! Such a crazy, icy day. The perfect "at home" day!!!

I can not even begin to tell you how much I love Neiman Marcus. This is a must have book for me. I have one of the others and regularly make their tortilla soup and have made those divine popovers. Growing up in Dallas, it was and still is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. And, those chocolate chip cookies are legendary!!!! I have to get this!

    Stay warm!
