French Gray Green!

I had a lovely time this weekend strolling through the Frick Museum.  The art work was magnificent and I fell in love with the use of a gorgeous French gray/ green wall paint in the Boucher Room.
It was subtle and yet had such depth. I know it has been glazed to add richness but the over all tone was what I fell for.  I found the artist who refurbished this space and he was wonderful to share his technique here! He did not however divulge the actual paint color that was used, so this of course sent me on a mission. I found a few that could do nicely, but I bet they would even be better with a layer of patina added. Here are some of my favorite green/grays, now I just have to figure out where I am going to paint this!

Can you say STUNNING!

Here are a few favorite Farrow and Ball paint colors that would make any room feel like a lovely space in France!

Light Blue

Again this color I just adore it!

Some gorgeous Benjamin Moore Gray/Greens that I love!

  1. I painted my fireplace a grey/green then I used the same color on my kitchen island but it's antiqued. It's called Muddy Waters. How appropro!

  4. Greetings! I have been searching for a "different grey" for my photo studio walls and your examples are perfection! Thank you for sharing the inspiration to think outside the plain grey box.

  6. B.M has some of the best colour choices I happen to have the chip for Wickham Gray and love the undertone of more blue in it rather then green, even though it still falls in that grey green tone. It reminds me more of a French grey tone. Now to decide if I want to do something with it, or go more charcoal with the finish to my front door :)

Love the stoves, we see so many used in a Nordic design and would love one.

    See you soon.
Ps, the artist with all the botanical and veggies I happen to be inspired by this artist.
