The Petite Chair and Surprise!

I think every home should have a little chair.  You know that special little chair that one can pull up to a conversation without lugging it across the room. The chair that  looks so pretty propped next to a fireplace or in a foyer. Finally the chair that does double duty as a seat and a table for books or magazines. Is it obvious that i love chairs!
My favorite designer, who I think is the queen of  petite chairs is Suzanne Kasler! She uses them so effortlessly in spaces. The little chairs make spaces look so visually interesting as your eye wanders around at various heights and widths. Do you have a favorite little chair?
Okay as for the surprise, all my readers can get 10% off lamps shades at CruelMountainDesigns on Etsy!
Just enter "relishedroost" at checkout! Now go get those shades!! HERE

Shade In The USA

I received emails inquiring on my post "made in the shade" and wondering if there is a USA company that makes similar for a more reasonable price. I found a wonderful company on Etsy that has great drum and gathered shades.  Check these out because they are fun and very reasonably priced!

To purchase go to CruelMountain - HERE

SIZING: Shade width should be about 2x the size of the width of the base, example 9 inch base can have a 16 - 18 inch width shade.
Height of shade should be about 2/3 the size of the height of the lamp up to the socket.
example: 28 inch high lamp to the socket could hold a 16 - 18 inch
high base.

As a wonderful surprise Cruel Mountain at ETsy is offering 10% off if you use "relishedroost" at check out!

Healthy Dose Of Hyacinth!

As I watch the flowers in my yard start to emerge I especially love the Spring Hyacinth.  My garden has a color palette of whites with pale blues and purples. I have  bearded Iris, Hyacinth and Cat Mint.  Even though there are  plenty of beautiful tones of purple outside I have none in my house.  This  has me now wishing for a healthy dose of Hyacinth!
So, where better to start looking for inspiration then Schumacher Fabrics.  I found such gorgeous fabrics and wall coverings and now I just need to figure out where on earth to implement this wonderful design.  Check out these wonderful tones of Hyacinth and Spring and maybe you will want a touch of it in your home too!

Simple and works well with other traditional art too.

Made In The Shade!

You know it's all in the details!  I think that lamp shades can also add that much needed detail to a simple or eclectic space.   They come in all shapes and sizes, materials and patterns.  I love a simple black shade with a gold leaf liner and I adore the shades I am going to share with you now!
What's your thought on shades would you consider adding a bit of punch to your lamp and room?
I know I would and I think I may need to ponder the perfect spot for that now.

All of the above are from the fun Pooky Lighting site!

How traditionally divine! Leave it to the French!
