The Gold Medal for British design goes to Neisha Crosland!

Neisha Crosland is a Royal College of Art trained textile designer. In 1994 she started her own textile company designing scarves and accessories, and has gone on to design fabrics, wallpapers, rugs, bed linen, tiles, fine china and stationery, alongside table and fashion accessories for Hankyu Department Stores in Japan.
Her body of work has propelled her to the forefront of UK design, and in 2006 she was honoured with the title of Royal Designer for industry (RDI).
Sophisticated and unusual colour combinations, impeccable attention to balance and proportion, oversized graphics and symmetrical geometric motifs inspired by nature characterise her designs, which are highly popular with leading interior designers, and distributed by Turnell & Gigon in Chelsea Harbour.
Neisha seems to have her designer hand into just about everything these days ranging from fabrics to rugs and now tiles. Her clean somewhat ethnic/artdeco inspired patterns seem to crossover throughout her collections. They are clean, cool and still classic. I am in love with the Navajo tile collection for Deferranti, I only wish I saw them before I redesigned my powder room last year! I also think her rugs collection for the Rug Company is very sharp! the rug collection is definitely transitional and works well in either modern or traditional settings. So, in order to keep up with all this Olympic hoopla, I give Neisha Crosland a gold medal for her contribution to Britain's interior design!
