Cozy Up with Cashmere And Such!

Well, there is no beating around the bush, "Baby It's Cold Outside"! We are in a blizzard and I think we have at least a foot at the moment and no sign of stopping . I cleared a path for the dogs , who love this weather. However, "Mr Remy" my cat not so much! It's one of those days to organize, read or just plain relax. Anyway you look at it one needs to be cozy in this type of weather, so here are some things that I think are essential to bring on that cozy feeling.

Well, when you come back inside from the frozen tundra there is nothing better than anything cashmere. Yes, cashmere is expensive but now the sales have begun and it is so classic you will use it for years to come! I have a few cashmere sweaters that I have been pulling out for 3 years now and they still look great!

Warm Up With La Castellamonte!

It is so cold here in the North East that I am craving the warm of my wood burning stove. I have a blue enameled cast iron stove in my kitchen, it came with my old house. I wouldn't have picked it but I didn't have the heart to remove it either, so I have worked around it and gave it a purpose. That little stove did come in handy during "Super Storm Sandy"' as we cooked on top of it due to no electricity. However, if I had my way I would trade it in for a beauty from La Castellamonte!
I have always adored European Ceramic Wood Burning Stoves. I loved the one in my Grandmother's home in Hungary, I just wish I took a picture of it the last time I was there. The ceramic stoves from LC give me that same feeling as my grandmother's. They are beautiful to look at and warm up your room immediately. I am partial to the traditional style but they also have a modern line that is very cool too. For more about this wonderful company go HERE.

French Gray Green!

I had a lovely time this weekend strolling through the Frick Museum. The art work was magnificent and I fell in love with the use of a gorgeous French gray/ green wall paint in the Boucher Room.
It was subtle and yet had such depth. I know it has been glazed to add richness but the over all tone was what I fell for. I found the artist who refurbished this space and he was wonderful to share his technique here! He did not however divulge the actual paint color that was used, so this of course sent me on a mission. I found a few that could do nicely, but I bet they would even be better with a layer of patina added. Here are some of my favorite green/grays, now I just have to figure out where I am going to paint this!
